About Edelevate
Rethinking STUDY ABROAD since 1999
For nearly a quarter of a century now, we at Edelevate have been busy reimagining what study abroad counselling and study abroad guidance means – by constantly experimenting with innovative ideas and nudging the status quo with fresh methodologies to help study abroad aspirants break the clutter and get the nod from their dream college.
A hands-on, multi-dimensions team
We are a team of agile, cross-disciplinary, multi-functional abroad admissions experts who bring an inventive and adaptive mindset to the study abroad space. Our holistic model, flexible action plans, and agile frameworks help students assess their potential in novel new ways, and build a profile designed to engineer breakthroughs at the toughest universities.
A collaborative approach to unlock your untapped potential
We start where regular study abroad mentoring ends by with an intensely individualized approach that celebrates diversity and demands 100% involvement from both sides : you and us.
The best study abroad applications don’t try to be everything – they simply make ‘their own thing’ outstanding.
Are you academically inclined? Do you have a leaning for sports? Are you at your best in creative pursuits?
Remember, your application’s ultimate differentiation stems from your own unique journey and singular perspective on life, one that no one else can replicate.
Which is why, instead of forcing one-size-fits-all formulae upon you, we inspire you to break free of the mould and invite you to lead with all your heart. We want you to reveal your inner greatness, instead of filtering it to fit the herd.
Our real job as study abroad consultants is to create the right soil, ecosystem and guardrails – so that your brilliance can find its most authentic voice and its most convincing expression.
It’s a teamwork at its best. We draw students into long, introspective conversations, empower them with clarity by decoding trends and share practical strategies and insights that help them plug gaps, build a well-balanced candidature and put their best foot forward.
We’are small. It lets us focus on BIG dreams.
We’ve deliberately kept ourselves small because frankly, we don’t want to mentor everyone. We only welcome students who are serious about an international education, carry foundational potential, and are willing to put in the effort to go the mile. If that’s you, we’ll rock together!
Our Culture
Study abroad is our space, and this is where we are invested with our full heart and soul. The trust and respect we have earned from the study abroad student community is a reflection of the values-first culture we are rooted in. We hold integrity and transparent sacrosanct, believe in diversity & equality (which makes us an exciting, equal opportunity workplace), encourage calculated risks (creativity and innovation starts with courage) and keep pushing ourselves to raise the yardsticks of excellence.
Are we consultants or mentors? And what’s the difference?
Both consultants and mentors carry rich expertise and solid experience in their chosen fields. That said, there are some differences, and it’s mainly one approach.
So where exactly lies the distinction? Well, a study abroad consultant approaches the assignment as a problem solver, while the mentor takes theguide-protégé route.
Consultants aren’t emotionally invested in the task, restricting their contribution purely to intellectual and technical engagement. Their involvement is clearly defined in times of output, time and commercials – and there are no grey areas. They take on targets with clinical precision, and get the job done in an efficient manner.
Mentors, on the other hand, tend to be more like ‘gurus’ who connect with students at a deeper, more fundamental level. Their intervention transcends neatly defined boundaries and spills onto grey areas, influencing personal and professional advancement holistically. This tends to be a less ‘formal’ framework without too many structures or protocols. Some mentors have personal familiarity with the protégé’s condition because they have walked in those shoes before. Targets and timelines tend to be flexible, adapting in real-time to the candidate’s pace of progress.
Perhaps the biggest difference between the two is that while a consultant will ensure that your challenge is solved, a mentor will prepare you in such a way that you can solve it yourself. By making the protégé ‘self sufficient’, mentors eventually make their own selves redundant – marking a higher plane of success.
So what are we, consultants or mentors?
Well, at EdElevate, we realize that both the roles bring invaluable impact to study abroad aspirant’s journey. We honour the subtle distinction between the two avatars, and acknowledge that both may be imperative depending on a student’s specific case or requirement.
And yes, we play both the roles.
